Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Elections in May- people I suspect who are running

For those who do not know, this next May will see the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Holding elections.

I have suspicions that these people will run for seats in the historic core or be chosen as alternates;

Celia Winstead..

Ginny MArie Case

Jim Winstead

Dave Bullock

We are going to need to find representatives in skid row and elsewhere to win board seats for all the categories we can.
Low income housing Residents are without representation on the Board. Robert Lockhart is the Central City East Resident Representative and that is it. The Homeless rep is from the Midnight Mission. The MIdnight MIssion does not see any problem with their residents running as homeless and as social service provider seats, but they take issue with anyone else who is in a program in any other organization running as a social service provider representative. This is a double standard that all people residing in Central City East should take issue with. It should be questioned and challenged. This year the reps from the Midnight Mission who had won the election were not active at all doing Neighborhood Council duties. We need representation on the board that will be active.

The education committee was more active with the Central City East Community than any of those who were elected to the board, well , David Robinson who represents Bunker Hill Residents was a part of the education committee. I take my hat off to Lesley Taplin and the rest of the education committee for their tireless efforts at continuing to build community in Downtown Los Angeles. Lesley isn't even a member of the board.
