Purple Heart in the Southern Hotel
The Southern Hotel is Complete. This is how I feel at this time. It is as if after all of these years this hallowed building that houses veterans and vets who have recently passed away in this building , has been given a purple heart that was made by many people, including children , that is now hanging in the Court Yard.
This is a reason I love Jan Perry . She never forgets about us. She puts up with us and she honors us with her presence when others shun those of us who live here. Piece by piece has brought a sense of calm to this house with their purple heart. I am honored and humbled by it's presence as it reminds us that there are those who served in the military who have been injured , and also those who have lost their lives.
The purple heart reaffirms that the veterans here are precious and important though they not be perfect. And the mere fact that Jan Perry was here to help unveil that Purple Heart on Valentines Day makes it even more precious. Our CEO and our Housing Director are also precious.
